of those employees where noise levels exceed the defined upper and lower action values; Establish the exposure of individuals to the noise levels Identify any areas where noise levels (including those that are below the lower exposure action values) are sufficient to interfere with normal communication, cause disturbance or contribute to stress for those who are exposed to the noise. Respond to any concern expressed by employees, in regard to noise levels, by undertaking an investigation in the potential health and safety implications and taking any appropriate corrective action Examine and, where practical, address any complaints about noise that is interfering with communication or otherwise causing distraction, even though the noise level may be less than the lower exposure action values. Noise Exposure Level Controls Take into account the noise levels generated by different items of equipment at the time of purchase. Ensure that all persons who need to enter any areas where noise levels exceed the lower exposure action values receive appropriate training and instruction in the risks involved and how to minimise any harmful effects of the noise, including effective use of personal hearing protection Provide appropriate training for supervisors and managers to ensure they are aware of the health and safety risks along with the measures and procedures that are in place to control the risks Take all reasonable steps to reduce noise levels so that they no longer pose a risk to health and safety.
