Lockton Health and Safety Manual
Poor Road Conditions Furthermore in the event of temporary deterioration in road conditions, possibly due to road works and narrower coned lanes, poor weather conditions or at night, all drivers are reminded to take particular care when driving and use slower speeds and plan for longer journey times, with appropriate breaks. Eyesight The highway code requires that all drivers have vision that meets certain requirements, Lockton requires that yours do meet the requirement. In the event that you currently do not use glasses or contact lens to correct your vision, either generally or when driving, and you suspect that your vision does not meet with the requirement of the highway code then Lockton requires you do not drive and that you request an vision test which Lockton will either arrange through HR or reimburse the cost of the standard eye test to the individual. If this reveals that glasses or contact lens are required to correct your vision then you should not drive until these are available to use, Lockton regrets it cannot fund the purchase of these. The driver of the vehicle is liable for these charges and costs at all times. The only cost that Lockton will reimburse is the congestion charge – where the charge has arisen solely due to a business meeting need and not through a journey associated with the regular commute to work. Hiring a Vehicle for use on Company Business In exceptional circumstances you may hire a car for business use provided that: Motoring offences, speeding, parking fines, congestion charges, fixed penalty notices
