Statutory Paternity Pay

In this section, Relevant Period means:

(a) in birth cases, the eight-week period ending immediately before the 14th week before the Expected Week of Childbirth. (b) in adoption cases, the eight-week period ending immediately before the week in which the Associate or their spouse, civil partner or Partner were notified of being matched with the child. Ordinary Statutory Paternity Pay (OSPP) is paid at a prescribed rate which is set by the government for the relevant tax year and is inclusive of any Lockton enhanced pay. It is payable to Associates who have worked continuously for 26 weeks by the 15 th week prior to EWC. Providing the Associate has been employed for a minimum of 26 weeks by the 15 th week prior to EWC, Paternity leave will be paid at full pay for two weeks.

Terms and conditions during OPL

All the terms and conditions of the Associate’s employment remain in force during OPL, except for the terms relating to pay.

Annual leave

During OPL, annual leave will accrue at the rate provided under the Associate’s contract.

Returning to work

An Associate is normally entitled to return to work following

OPL to the same position held before commencing leave. Terms of employment will be the same as they would have been had they not been absent. However, if an Associate has combined their OPL with a period of: additional maternity leave; additional adoption leave; or parental leave of more than four weeks, and it is not reasonably practicable for them to return to the same job, the Company will offer the Associate a suitable and appropriate alternative position.

The Company will deal with any requests by Associates to change their working patterns (such as working part-time) after paternity leave on a case-by-case basis.
